Roorkee: DPS Roorkee marked the 79th Independence Day with grandeur and patriotic fervour. The celebrations began with the ceremonial hoisting of the tricolour by the school directors, MLA Pradeep Batra and Ram Agarwal,Siddharth Batra,dhruv agarwal,kartik agarwal..amid the singing of the national anthem. The campus was beautifully decorated with saffron, white, and green, creating an atmosphere charged with national pride.
Students showcased their talent through a series of cultural performances, including patriotic songs, traditional dances, and a short play highlighting the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters. In their address, MLA Pradeep Batra and Ram Agarwal praised the students’ enthusiasm and urged them to contribute positively to society and uphold the nation’s unity and integrity.
The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets among students and guests, as the air echoed with chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. The event not only celebrated India’s freedom but also inspired the young generation to value and protect it.
